Giant Ice World – Werfen

The largest ice cave on earth. Experience the mountains in a different way. Discover the miracles of the largest ice cave in the world. You’ll see ice palaces of crystal-clear beauty, which will lead you even on hot summer days into a wintrily world of ice. You can already see the enormous cave portal of 20 meters wide and 18 meters height from a distance. The entire cave system extends to a length of over 42 km, the first part, approx. 1 km, is adorned with enormous icicles. This part is also open to the public during tours. During the summer months the average temperature inside of the cave is approx. 0° C. Mostly via stairs you ascend 134 meters in the cave.
Warm clothes and good footwear are recommended! The tour takes on the average 75 minutes, but you should plan at least 3 hours time for the entire visit of the Giant Ice World.
